We have been very busy in the Art Room this year.
The students have studied famous artists from the past such as Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Georgia O’Keeffe.  We have been learning about all the different elements of art; shape, color, texture, line, form and space. Our younger students have been experimenting with primary and secondary paints, learning how to mix and make new colors. Many classes this year have been able to work 3 dimensionally with clay and paper sculpture. Some of our older students have been able to try printmaking and work with watercolor crayons, oil pastels and other art supplies.  The students creativity is amazing and so inspiring. The art process allows them to problem solve, experiment and create  the most unique finished projects. I love teaching them everyday and seeing the joy they find in creating!

The PTA’s Westvale Talent Show was a Success! Our school is overflowing with Talent!
Over 61 Children participated making it our largest show yet. We had wonderful vocal solos, piano numbers, science and magic acts, dancing numbers, jump roping, Drums and more. It was a great night for parents and students to enjoy. We would like to thank all the parents and students who donated their time and talents to make a great show. A Special thanks to PTA mom, Liz Ward, who made and donated the Westvale marquee letters. They are awesome and we are excited to use them at some of our up coming events!

Math Night!! We had a fun night at Westvale practicing our math skills. We started off the night in grade level classrooms doing games. The first graders did card games and they got to take them home! Next we went to the computer lab to go on Think Central and play lots of fun math games. Then we went to the cafeteria the play grade level board games with our families. It was so much fun and to top it all off the principal was giving out donuts to all the people who came
