WESTVALE PTA ELECTED OFFICERS (voting members of Executive Board)
TITLE NAME JOB DESCRIPTION
PRESIDENT* MELISSA STANGER Is the presiding officer at Board and Association Meetings. Responsible for leading PTA toward specific goals chosen by the school and PTA members. Creates meeting agendas to plan and review events. Works with board to create budget and maintain honest and transparent use of funds. Helps all board members be successful in their positions, and provides resources and assistance where needed.
PRESIDENT ELECT* OPEN Creates and collects “needs assessment” so PTA board can organize and support programs the families want and need. Work with executive board in maintaining budget. Attends monthly Board and Association Meetings and provides feedback and assistance where needed.
TREASURER* ERIC MOHLMAN The authorized custodian of all funds of the PTA. Duties include keeping financial records and preparing reports to comply with State PTA policies as well as local, state and Federal laws. Attends monthly Board meetings and provides feedback and support for other PTA events.
SECRETARY* HEIDI BAENA Attends, and keeps an accurate, concise, permanent record of proceedings at all PTA Board and Association Meetings. Responsible to post meeting minutes so they are availalble to the public.

PRINCIPAL (VP) APRIL GAYDOSH Responsible for representing the administrative view in discussions at PTA Board Meetings. Usually makes report at each meeting.
TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE (VP) ELIZABETH PICKETT Responsible for representing the teaching staff in discussions at PTA Board Meetings. Usually makes a report at each meeting.
COMMISSIONERS and CHAIRS (PTA members with a voice but not a vote)

VP MEMBERSHIP  OPEN Runs an annual Membership Campaign and tracks membership in MemberHub. Responsible to assist in recruiting and retaining membership. Attends monthly Board meetings and gives feedback and support for other PTA events.
VP MEDIA OPEN Properly maintains PTA Website and social media sites. Helps advertise and promote PTA activities. Attends monthly Board meetings and gives feedback and support for other PTA events.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT COMMISSIONER Open Oversee and support the events involving the community. Ensure that the events enhance education and families. Attend monthly Board meetings and help give feedback and support to other PTA events.
LEGISLATIVE COMMISSIONER Open Communicate with Utah PTA leaders on local and state legislation and happenings, and forward on relative information to PTA membership. Attend Legislative PTA day at the capital. Attend monthly Board meetings and help give feedback and support for other PTA events.
EDUCATION COMMISSIONER Open Oversee and support the various activities to ensure they are enhancing education. Attend monthly Board meetings and help give feedback and support for other PTA events.
FAMILY LIFE COMMISSIONER Open Oversee the school’s family events to ensure they encourage positive involvement and build relations.  Assist where needed. Attend monthly Board meetings and help give feedback and support for other PTA events.
HEALTH & SAFETY COMMISSIONER Open Oversee events that will encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Give support to Chairs dealing with Health and Safety events. Attend monthly Board meetings and help give feedback and support for other PTA events.
INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONER Open Oversee events to ensure they will boost confidence and self-esteem among participants. Help Reflections chair organize PTA Reflections art program. Attend monthly Board meetings and help give feedback and support for other PTA events.
Box Tops Chair Open Runs a Box Tops Drive/Campaign and at least monthly, motivates at the classroom or school level to donate box tops. Collects, Counts, and Submits Box Tops. Tracks progress and reports to Executive Board.
Fundraiser Chair Open Lead the organization of a school-wide fundraiser. Enlist a team to help coordinate it.

Co-chair		 Open Assist chair in the organizing of a school-wide fundraiser.
Patriotic Week Chair Open Organize a meaningful school-wide patriotic assembly for flag retirement. This may include daily activities leading up to September 11th.
Junior HS and HS Representative Open Work within feeder school system to promote connections to encourage continuing education. Create a few simple events to generate excitement for future secondary school attendance. Ie:clubs and sports member visits

Business Sponsor Coordinator Open Build sponsorship for our school by visiting local businesses to enlist support for education. Request donations/coupons/discounts in trade for advertising for their business.
Teacher Appreciation Chair Open Organize Teacher Appreciation week, as well as appreciation throughout the year.
PTC Dinner Coordinator November 2020 Open Organize and plan dinners for teachers during fall Parent Teacher Conferences.

Parents and Pastries Chair Open Organize a day where parents or guardians join their students for a quick breakfast and spend time together with a brief activity.
STEM/Art Night Chair Open Plan Literacy Night, Art Night, STEAM Night, or other fun academic family night event (could be centered on other academics i.e. science or math).
D.A.R.E. Chair Open Co-ordinate with 5th Grade teachers and provide refreshments for DARE graduation.
Green Ribbon Week Chair Open Simple daily activities to promote pedestrian safety. Thank yous for crossing guards.
Red Ribbon Week Chair Open Work with a team to promote Red Ribbon Week activities to help prevent Drug/Alcohol and other addictions.
White Ribbon Week Chair Open Work with a team to create activities that help promote Media Safety.
Field Day Chair Tami Larsen With a team, organize a school-wide field day to promote team building and fun.
Maturation Chair Open Provide refreshments and simple Maturation kits for 5th grade Maturation.
Hearing and Vision Screening Chair Open Organize volunteers and work with district nurses during hearing and vision screening tests.
Reflections Chair Open Organize PTA Reflections art program. Ensure each entry follows rules and guidelines. Enlist judges and present awards.
